**Patch Test Manual**
Patch testing is a helpful method for predicting whether you might experience an adverse reaction to a new product. It's advisable to perform a patch test before adding a new product from The New Skin and its subsidiaries M'bayang Skin, M'bayang Beauty, and Kelenddi to your routine. Here’s a general approach to conducting a patch test based on the type of product:
**THE NEW SKIN PRODUCTS:**
**Salicylic Acid 2% Solution & Masque**
Before using, conduct a patch test: Apply the product to a small area once a day for three days to check for sensitivity. If you experience severe irritation, hives, swelling of the eyes or mouth, blistering, or difficulty breathing, rinse off immediately, discontinue use, and seek medical advice.
**Leave-On and Rinse-Off Products**
**Patch Testing Steps:**
1. Apply a small amount of the product to a clean area of skin on your upper forearm.
2. Keep the area dry.
3. After 24 hours, rinse the area.
4. If you notice any redness, burning, itching, blistering, or irritation at any point during the test, do not use the product.
**Masks and Peeling Solutions**
(Examples: AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, Mastic Must, Myrrh Clay, Flavanone Mud)
**Patch Testing Steps:**
1. Apply a small amount of the product to a clean area of skin on your upper forearm.
2. Leave the product on for the time specified in the usage directions.
3. Rinse off after the recommended time has passed.
4. If you experience redness, burning, itching, blistering, or irritation within 24 hours of the test, do not use the product.
**Important Notes:**
The patch test is intended to determine initial irritation and does not guarantee similar reactions when applied to other parts of the body, including the face, or after prolonged use. It does not account for underlying conditions and should not be used to diagnose hypersensitivity or allergic contact dermatitis. If you have concerns about starting a new product, consult a dermatologist before use.
